Hi, I’m Tim — the person behind Glorious Garden.
I’ve been gardening for over 20 years, and it’s still one of my favourite things to do. There’s something genuinely satisfying about growing your own food, getting your hands in the soil, and watching something go from a seed to a harvest. It never really gets old.
Over the years I’ve made most of the mistakes there are to make — planting too early, sowing into cold soil, rushing tender crops outside before the frosts were done, and following advice that sounded sensible but didn’t account for the reality of growing in the UK. Our climate, our soil, and our unpredictable springs are different from what most gardening guides are written for.
That’s why I started Glorious Garden.
I wanted to create a resource that’s written specifically for UK conditions — honest about what works, realistic about what doesn’t, and useful for beginners who are just getting started and don’t want to wade through conflicting advice to find a straight answer.
Everything on this site comes from real experience growing in British gardens. The guides cover vegetables, flowers, soil, pests, and seasonal jobs — all written with UK weather, UK growing windows, and the kinds of challenges UK gardeners actually face in mind.
Whether you’re working with a small back garden, a few raised beds, or a handful of pots on a patio, I hope Glorious Garden helps you grow with a bit more confidence and a lot less guesswork.
